English
BI dashboard or report
The page of a Power BI, Tableau or Looker dashboard or report, or of a dashboard declared as a dbt exposure. It shows which datasets it depends on and the trust of each one, the usage the BI tool reported in the last sync, and the curation: owner, description, tags and glossary terms.
What you can do
- See the trust of the sources. The dashboard's trust is that of its weakest source: a dashboard is no more reliable than the worst dataset it depends on. With no source holding a trust score, it stays unknown.
- See the usage: the last view, the total views and the warning when the dashboard has had no views for more days than the BI integration allows. Without access to the activity in the tool, usage stays unknown. dbt dashboards have no usage.
- Open each source dataset from the lineage.
- As an editor or admin, choose the owner, write the description, add tags (following the workspace's tag policy) and, on plans with the glossary, link terms that are not deprecated. Each change goes to the Audit log, without the text you wrote. The curation is kept even if the dashboard drops out of one sync and returns in another.
- Open the dashboard in the BI tool.
You get here from search (⌘K or the Search page, type "BI dashboards and reports"). A dashboard that only depends on datasets in restricted domains you cannot access does not appear; in one that also depends on others, you only see the sources you can access.
