AI copilot for industrial maintenance
What is in the manuals and in the experts' heads, on the technician's tablet.
Pressure above limit. Possible cause: valve EV-2 blocked.
Suggested sequence
- 1.Isolate the secondary circuit (Q-12)
- 2.Depressurise through drain D-3
- 3.Inspect EV-2 (19 mm spanner)
Problem
Knowledge scattered across manuals, systems, and the heads of a few specialists. High time-to-diagnose. Inconsistent incident response.
Solution
AI agent on tablet/voice, trained on manuals, KB and sensor history. Guides technicians step by step. CMMS integration to open, update and close work orders.
KPIs
- Average incident resolution time
- First-time-fix rate
- Reduction in specialist dependency
- Equipment uptime
How it is measured
Every KPI with a baseline and a target.
The numbers for this project come from your data. We measure the baseline during framing, agree the target with you before building and, in production, measure the same KPIs the same way.
- 01BaselineMeasured during framing, with the data of the process as it runs today.
- 02TargetAgreed with the case owner before building, starting from the baseline.
- 03In productionThe same KPIs, measured the same way, compared with the baseline.
- Average incident resolution time
- From opening to closing the work order, using the CMMS dates.
- First-time-fix rate
- Work orders closed with no reopening or second intervention on the same equipment, within an agreed window.
- Reduction in specialist dependency
- Incidents where the technician had to call an expert, recorded on the work order.
- Equipment uptime
- Running hours divided by planned hours, per piece of equipment, from the downtime records.
Before starting
Prerequisites and risks.
Prerequisites
- Manuals, procedures and work order history in digital form, or able to be digitised.
- Access to the CMMS and, where they exist, to the sensor data.
- A senior technician to validate the agent's answers during the pilot.
Risks and how we handle them
A wrong answer during an intervention
The agent cites the manual and the procedure behind each step, and safety steps such as lockout and tagout follow the plant's approved procedure. The decision to intervene stays with the technician.
Outdated documentation
The agent is only as good as the manuals. The knowledge base has an owner and a review date, and answers with no source are flagged.
Writing to plant systems
The pilot starts with read-only access to the sensors and the CMMS. Opening, updating and closing work orders comes after it is validated with the technicians.
